Upon arrival at Casablanca airport, you will be met by your Private driver and go for a short visit of the economic capital of Morocco, and the Great Mosque Hassan II where you will meet a fascinating example of the Moroccan architecture. It is the largest mosque in the kingdom and the fifth largest mosque in the world. It stands on a promontory looking out on the Atlantic, and has space for 25,000 worshippers. A further 80,000 can be accommodated in the mosque’s adjoining grounds for a total of 105,000 worshippers present at any given time at the Hassan II mosque. Its minaret is the tallest one in the world at 210 m. You will leave Casablanca the economic capital of the Morocco, to the political one Rabat, where we will see the Oudaya Kasbah and its beautiful gardens, This Kasbah of the Oudaya is located at Abou Regreg river. It was built during the reign of the Almohad dynasty in 1150 AD. The Mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II and Hassan Tower which is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat constructed in 1195 AD. The tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world with the mosque. Then continue to Chefchaouen, the blue city of Morocco. Overnight in Riad with breakfast.
After having breakfast, you will have time to see Chefchaouen (“the blue city”) which is a Moroccan popular tourist attraction and welcoming town situated in the Rif Mountains just south of the Mediterranean coastline in northwest Morocco. This nice bleu city is known for its traditional buildings. You will enjoy a walk to explore the white and blue washed walls of the medina and the markets. Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography with its wonderful views of the Rif Mountains. Later on, you will travel south via Ouazzan towards Fes. Before that, you will have the chance to travel back to the 3rd century by visiting one of the most important archaeological site in the kingdom. It is Volubulis, Walili in Arabic language, an attractive roman city or what we call the ruins of Volubilis, which was listed as a UNESCO world Heritage site in 1997. Then onwards to Meknes, where your discovery includes visits to the main historical monuments of Meknes, starting with the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail (1672– 1727). Then we go to the granaries, built in 1600. They were ingeniously designed. Tiny windows, massive walls and a system of underflow water channels kept the temperatures cool and air circulating. He didn’t store food for humans, but grain and hay to feed his 15.000 horses. You will stop as well to get pictures of the Bab Al Mansour the Great gate, built in the 11th century. Meknes has been greatly impacted by the Moorish style building. It is now the fifth biggest city of the kingdom since it has a good economy, based mainly on agriculture, olives and wine. The continue to Fes where you will overnight in a Riad with breakfast.
After breakfast in the riad/hotel, you will visit the old medina of Fez, the most ancient of Imperial Cities anywhere in the Muslim world. It is the city that has been the spiritual and political capital of Morocco for over 1000 years since its inception by Moulay Idriss. The local guide will reveal for you the secrets of Fez and show you the most important historic monuments. We will make sure that you visit places such as: The Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, the Tomb of the Merinids, the 14th century Bouinania School, ceramics handcraft. You will have lunch in the Medina and then explore its fascinating cobbled lanes, richly decorated Attarin School, the Neijarin, Dar Batha/Museum of Moroccan Arts and Crafts, Medersa and the Kairaouine Mosque…. You will see the medieval tannery and the infinite variety of handcraft merchandise. The night will be spent in Fes.
After breakfast in the hotel, you will start the trip to Merzouga, passing through Ifrane, which is often symbolically described as a Swiss mountain city, the cedar forests of Azrou where you will have the opportunity to wander among its famous monkeys in their natural environment, the Middle Atlas Mountains as well as the only tunnel in Morocco and the valley of Ziz, with miles of palm groves and high cliffs. Your excursion will take you deeper towards the southeast, gate to the largest Sahara Desert where you will start your camel trek into the charming Erg Chebbi dunes and immerse in nomadic desert lifestyle. You will get to spend the night in a Berber tent. After dinner, we gather around fire, enjoying the desert’s night atmosphere and entertaining ourselves with Berber music that pleases desert people and their visitors. For nature lovers and those who cherish calmness, they can go for a walk on the dunes and enjoy the peacefulness and warmth atmosphere, looking up at the stars and the moon. Overnight at at a Luxury desert Camp.
We will get up early to witness the magic sunrise from the dunes. After having a delicious Berber breakfast you will get back by camel to Merzouga and get prepared to leave by car towards Tinghir to see the Todra Gorges. In our way, we will halt in Rissani to visit Moulay Ali Cherif mausoleum. Then we will pass through numerous small Berber villages, like Jorf, which is well known for its palm trees, Mellaab and Tinjdad. We will drive up a bit further to Dades Gorges, passing through a fabulous sight made of mountains formed like monkey-fingers and set off to see the panoramic view of Dades Gorges road. Then, we will finally arrive to the Dades Valley where we will have dinner and spend the night at a riad/hotel.
After breakfast, we start our journey crossing the authentic Dades Valley to Kalaat M’gouna (the capital or roses) and Ouarzazate (the Hollywood of Africa). Within the way to our destination, you will have a great chance to see hundreds of abandoned Kasbahs. We will visit the Roses Valley and Skoura village, and then continue to Ouarzazate. After visiting the Hollywood city and the Taourirt Kasbah we will go ahead to enjoy lunch at the famous largest Kasbah in Morocco: “Ait Benhaddou Kasbah”. The latter is recognized by the UNESCO as a World Heritage site. As one of the most beautiful monuments in Morocco, this Kasbah was chosen by many movie makers shooting films in the region and was portrayed to audiences worldwide. After a tour inside the Kasbah, our journey will be resumed via the charming Tizi N’Tichka mountain pass. In the middle of this pass, we will halt for a while to enjoy the panoramic view and visit the Argan oil cooperatives. Then we will head to Marrakech. Overnight in a riad in the Medina.
After breakfast at the riad, we start our sightseeing journey in the city of Marrakech “the red city of Morocco”. It was founded in the XII century by the Almoravidian dynasty. We will explore the most important cultural and historical heritage. You will have the chance to visit the Saadiyin Tomb, Majorelle Gardens and Koutoubia Tower. Moreover, our guide will lead you to see the Bahia square, the Souk of the city and then you will join the famous square of the medina where you will see and discover the fascinating snake-charmers, story-tellers, musicians.
