Upon arrival in Rabat, the political capital of Morocco, you will be met by your private driver and begin with a guided visit of the city. Visit the Kasbah of the Oudaya, overlooking the Bou Regreg River, followed by the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower, the minaret of an unfinished mosque dating back to 1195 AD. After lunch, depart Rabat and travel north through the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue City” of Morocco. Upon arrival, enjoy free time to explore the charming blue-washed streets, local handicraft shops, and scenic viewpoints. Overnight in a riad in Chefchaouen with breakfast.
After breakfast, depart Chefchaouen toward the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved Roman archaeological site in Morocco. Explore the impressive mosaics, arches, and ancient streets. Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Visit Bab Mansour, the Sahrij Swani basin, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, continue toward Fes, the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. Overnight in a riad in Fes with breakfast.
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day guided tour of Fes, one of the world’s oldest medieval cities. Visit the Royal Palace gates before exploring Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover Al Quaraouiyine University, Al Attarine Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous Chouara Tanneries. In the afternoon, visit the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and enjoy a panoramic view over the medina from a nearby viewpoint. Overnight in a riad in Fes with breakfast.
After breakfast, depart Fes toward the Sahara Desert. Pass through Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue through the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaques. Cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, pass through the only tunnel in Morocco, and descend into the spectacular Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and dramatic cliffs.
Continue southeast to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, begin a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy sunset over the dunes, followed by dinner, traditional Berber music, and stargazing around the campfire. Overnight in a luxury desert camp.
Early in the morning, wake up to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes. After a traditional Berber breakfast, return by camel to Merzouga and continue by vehicle to Rissani, where you will visit the Moulay Ali Cherif Mausoleum, founder of the Alaouite dynasty.
Travel through authentic Berber villages such as Jorf, Mellaab, and Tinjdad before arriving at the impressive Todra Gorges, where towering canyon walls rise dramatically on both sides. Continue to the Dades Valley, passing the unique “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and stopping at panoramic viewpoints along the Dades Gorge road. Dinner and overnight in Dades Valley.
After breakfast, depart through the scenic Dades Valley toward Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the Valley of Roses. Continue to the Skoura Oasis, dotted with ancient kasbahs and palm groves. Arrive in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” and visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
Proceed to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous monuments in Morocco, featured in many international films. After visiting the kasbah and having lunch, continue through the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for panoramic views and a visit to local Argan oil cooperatives.
Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon and transfer to your accommodation or Marrakech Menara Airport for departure. End of services.
