Day 1: Marrakesh – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou –Ouarzazat – Dades:

This 5 Days Desert Trip From Marrakech To Merzouga Sahara starts by driving towards Kasbah Aitbenhadou via the highest pass in Africa Tizi N’ Tichka (Altitude 2260 m) while enjoying the super views of the giant High Atlas Mountains with the panoramic Berber villages. Afterwards, we continue to reach the fertile and rich village of Telouet or the Glaoui’s home-town where you can discover the salt mines We continue the journey to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aït Benhaddou. Situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River, This beautiful example of southern Moroccan architecture has been used as a backdrop for over 20 famous movies including Lawrence of Arabia, Game of thrones, The Mummy, and Gladiator. Upon your arrival to Ouarzazat, you will start by visiting the Atlas studios the city’s main attraction where famous movies were made such as : Star Wars, Babel, The way back …Next is an other visit to Kasbah Taourirt or the old city of Ouarzazar which was the essential residence of the Glaoui or the Pacha of Marrakech in the south. Overnight in a hotel in Boumalne Dades.

Day 2: Dades – Todra gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (Desert camp):

Departure will be at 8 am from your hotel in Dades continuing to Tinghir and the lush valley of Todra and arriving to the Todra gorges where you will have the chance to explore and hike along the narrow and high cliffs of Todra.. In the afternoon we arrive to Merzouga desert where you get ready and accompanied by a camelguide to go for an authentic camel trek experience of around 90 minutes where you can catch the sunset in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend a memorable night with millions of shiny stars, enjoy a Berber dinner, drum party and sleep in a traditional nomadic tent.

Day 3: Exploring the regions of the Sahara – Merzouga:

After you wake up early to watch the sunrise, you will ride your camels back to your hotel for taking a shower and eat breakfast. Afterwards we take our 4×4 to drive around the mystic Erg Chebbi dunes and stop for tea with a nomadic desert family and get to know their way of living. Then continue to visit Khamlia a small village inhabited by black people to listen to their traditional Gnawa music, then an other visit Rissani to bustle and bargain in its traditional Souk, visit some of the Kasbah and Ksour in the Area and have lunch with our family and friends. Free afternoon in the desert and overnight in our hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga – Alnif – Nekkob – Agdz:

Departure at 9 am from the desert driving towards Agdz through the range of the dramatic Anti Atlas mountains and the fabulous views of the rocky desert passing by Alnif which is famous the Henna groves. After lunch in Nekkob this green little palmery, we arrive to Agdz a small town located at shore of the Draa River that is considered the longest in Morocco. Overnight in a hotel in Agdz.

Day 5: Agdz – Ouarzazate – Telouet- Marrakech:

We will start the journey back to Marrakech crossing the Tizi N’Tinifift pass (Altitude 1460m) the highest pass in the Anti Atlas mountains. After we arrive to Ouarzazat in one hour, we will continue by the High Atlas mountains to reach the fertile and rich village of Telouet or the Glaoui’s home-town where you can discover the salt mines, then arrive back to Marrakech and drop off aprox at 5 pm.
